Workshop One 9.30AM – 12.30PMPreparing to Plan
Planning is a critical element of the NDIS. Before you start the planning process, it can be helpful to prepare so you don’t miss important things that could be included in your plan. In this workshop, WAIS will explain what you could think about beforehand to prepare for the planning process. Being prepared can help you feel more confident that the plan will better provide what it is that you or your loved one wants or needs.
Workshop Two 1.00PM – 4.00PM Understanding Self-Management In the NDIS, there are a range of ways you can manage your funding. You may choose to self-manage some or all of your plan. In this workshop WAIS will explain the different options available, in particular Self-Management. This will include the benefits of self-management, what is involved and what your responsibilities would be, especially if you are wanting to hire your own workers. Whether it is the WA NDIS or national NDIS, what you need to consider when (1) preparing to plan or (2) thinking through your legal and regulatory obligations if you choose to self-manage and hire your own workers, are the same. With the announcement that WA will move to the national NDIS, we will take this opportunity to provide you with any information we have to hand at the time about the transition and rollout of the NDIS across WA. YOU CAN COME TO ONE OR BOTH WORKSHOPS
