WHY DOES IT MATTER IF I’M A GREAT SUPPORT PERSON?
In May 2016, WAiS hosted their “Whose life is it anyway” conference which dived further into this topic. At the conference Peter Hall, WAiS Member told us: “In me changing support workers that has probably put me where I am today. I met this young guy who basically changed my life, changed my whole perspective. If I hadn’t met him, if he hadn’t encouraged me, I wouldn’t be the independent person I am today”.
