We all need support.
Some of us need a bit more support than others.
You might get the extra support you need by using formal supports.
Formal supports are supports you get from service providers.
Formal supports need to be paid for:
- by you
- with funding you get.
When people need formal supports, they can:
- choose to manage their own supports and services
- work with an organisation to manage their supports and services
- have their supports and services managed completely by an organisation.
To be in control of your own support doesn’t mean you have to look after everything.
It means you:
- are heard and respected as a person who can make choices about your support
- have a say in how your support works.
