About WAiS

At WAiS we want people to live their lives their way.

Our organisation is based around the members we have.

Our members include:

• people with disability
• people with psycho-social disability – their disability comes from a mental health problem
• families
• supporters – paid and unpaid
• service providers.

We support:

• people
• families
• service providers
• government.

We help them get supports and services that are:

• individualised – right for each person
• self-directed – they have choice and control.

We give people:

• information
• advice
• mentoring – we guide you, so you can do things well
• coaching.

We want people and providers to join us as members.

Our WAiS team are people who might:

• have a disability
• love, care for or support someone with a disability
• work in the disability sector
• work in the mental health sector.

Each person on our team offers something special.

This helps us do our work:

• locally
• nationally
• internationally.

They give us:

• leadership
• support.

We want our members to become part of our Committee of Management.
