Minister Dawson announced yesterday afternoon that the NDIS Worker Screening Bill has passed through parliament. This new screening process will come into force 1 February 2021.

The new screening process will make sure that individuals looking to work with people with disability through disability providers or directly engaged do not pose a risk. It will also determine whether or not they can work in certain roles.

Once this begins in February 2021, all new workers must take the check and existing workers will phase-in over time.
